When veneers are a good choice
Veneers are not right for everyone. Teeth with large decay, active gum disease, or a strong grinding habit may need other treatment first, and badly crooked teeth may be better straightened with braces. The checkup tells you which applies to you.
- Teeth that stay discoloured even after whitening
- Chipped, worn or uneven front teeth
- Small gaps between the front teeth
- Teeth that are too small or oddly shaped
Looking after veneers
Brush twice a day, clean between your teeth, and come for regular checkups and scaling. Avoid biting very hard things such as ice or bottle caps with your front teeth. If you grind your teeth at night, ask us about a night guard.

The front surface of the teeth is prepared, usually under local anaesthetic.

Questions patients ask
How much do veneers cost?
The cost depends on how many teeth need veneers and the material. You get an exact cost after the free checkup.
How long do veneers last?
With good care veneers last many years. Like natural teeth they can chip, and they may need replacing one day.
Do veneers damage my teeth?
Preparing a tooth for a veneer removes some of its surface, which cannot be undone. That is why we only suggest veneers when they are the right treatment.
Can veneers be whitened later?
No, veneers keep the shade they were made in. If you want whiter teeth overall, whitening is usually done first so the veneers can match.
